I cropped it down and bumped up the shadows and saturation a bit

Hi Carol, I really like the framing of this shot. The bushes on the left and the tree on the right as well as the foreground. My eye goes to the water then, back to the mountain to take it all in. Nice shot.
Curious what settings you used?   Posted: 10/17/2026 16:01:13

Thanks. This was my Canon R6ii, 70-200mm lens, iso200, f8   Posted: 10/17/2026 16:32:28
I see this as a nice mountain scene, with the mountains, lake and forest. For me your lighting is good and you have nice focus and depth of field and I agree with Dawn regarding the framing.
What I don't see is anything as a point of interest that can drew my eye into the image, and for me that makes this just another nice mountain scene but with nothing special.

I have to agree with Ed it is a nice mountain shot. I do want to mention that for me it seems the bush in the right of the picture is a little blurry.   Posted: 10/19/2026 05:22:38

Hi Carol. I love the framing of the view. The use of a 70-200mm lens was also a good choice. As a landscape, I do however, think the out of focus portion on the right hand side, does not contribute to a composition as a landscape. I do think not having the right handside there would strengthen the composition as a landscape. I think why it bothers a bit is because it is on the right hand edge, which is normally a strong composition point.   Posted: 10/21/2026 16:49:55
