About the Image(s)
I took this in my garden at home a few years ago. There were lots of bees buzzing around and I decided to try to get one. I set up my tripod so I didn’t have to get too close, and used a remote to activate the shutter.
I did very little editing, other than cropping, adding a little blur to the background and a little contrast to the bee.
I used my Panasonic DMC-FZ200
ISO 100
F 4
Shutter Speed 1/125

WOW! You can see every hair on the bee! So focused and clear. The flower is also precise. The background is soft and does not interfere but enhances the bee and the flower.   Posted: 10/01/2026 10:09:21
Beautiful photo. The bee's motion adds a bit of blur. A slightly faster shutter speed may have been better, but I love it.   Posted: 10/10/2026 11:52:50
Beautiful bee composition. I always try to photograph insects on flowers as it tells more of a story. I see you took this several years ago, I wonder if you might try a faster shutter speed, so the wings would be a bit sharper!   Posted: 10/12/2026 05:38:16
