Ohare Arrival by Steven Jungerwirth

October 2026 - Ohare Arrival

About the Image(s)

The underground tunnel between United's Ohare Terminal B and C is always entertaining to traverse. Lots of metal/glass - and constantly changing (almost psychedelic) colors surround. It provides a welcome reprieve from the chaos above.

Hi Steven,
Your image of Chicago O'Hare airport is beautiful! The composition works well with the symmetric lines, the vibrant colors and patterns of neon tubes on the windows & ceilings of the moving walkways. The inclusion of people on both sides make the scene more lively. One nickpick is to crop tighter to eliminate a dark box on the right. Nice shot!   Posted: 10/04/2026 04:21:30

This group gets a lot of cool images in airports! Must be the ready camera.
Great color and repeating patterns, Steve. It feels like it leans just a tad left to me. Just me?

I love a cool airport shot and this is wonderful. And how funny how there were no people immediately near you so there was space between the photographer and the crowd. The colors really make the shot.

I agree with above suggestions. Crop to elimate the dark box on the right. Maybe you have made it so the divider between the two sides of the walkway is straight, but it throws the "horizon" off from being level. I wonder if straightening that line would throw the rest of the photo off balance.   Posted: 10/13/2026 14:39:37

Great colors; great lines. Could be sub-titled "To Infinity and Beyond!" :-) It does seem to be tilted left a bit, to my eye also. My first thought was that it would be better without any people in it, but on second look, having them there helps the viewer understand what you're showing us. You grabbed the shot at a great moment though, without too many folks close to the camera. Well done.   Posted: 10/27/2026 21:25:28

Thanks Jan - and welcome to the group! I think you'll enjoy it. We're all taking/editing more images with our phones - and this is a great forum to share and learn. I appreciate your comments on my image. And yes (as my wife will attest) - I struggle to get the horizon level!   Posted: 10/28/2026 07:44:30

Thanks Steven. I'm looking forward to learning from the group. I hardly ever even take my "good" camera out of the closet any more because it's too darn heavy and bulky.   Posted: 10/28/2026 16:18:05
