About the Image(s)

I’ve always wanted to photograph this Temple… but I need some ideas… I’ll go back.

Sri Venkateswara Temple, Pittsburgh is a Hindu temple in Penn Hills, Pennsylvania. It is the oldest Hindu temple in the United States built by Indian immigrants. Constructed in the style of the Sri Venkateswara Temple in Tirupati, India, the temple is a pilgrimage site for Hindus in the Northeastern and Midwestern United States. It has been described as "the trend-setting South Indian temple in its celebration of expensive, time-consuming, and intricate rituals."[1]

I like this image. It might be a better image if you photograph it during golden hour, with a side angle shining on all the details.

As far as the image as is, I could crop out almost half of the sky from the top. The clouds are nice (they need some better edits if you leave them there), but they are not the main subject; therefore, they distract the eye. Also, the drone should have been just a little bit higher or lower so the gold details on the top of the tower on the left do not align with the tree horizon. The little gold statues would stand out better, and as I mentioned above, a side-light would help with that. The image also looks like it could use a little sharpening.

If you reshoot, try to line up the middle tower so it covers up the air conditioning unit if you can.   Posted: 10/13/2026 21:19:00

Let me first start out by saying that if you want an extraordinary photo of a Hindu Temple, take a trip to Robbinsville NJ to photograph the 2nd largest Temple in the world (look it up)! I have been there twice but so far no drone shots, the campus is so large that it is hard to launch off the property (drone operation on property is prohibited) and remain VLOS. On your photo I see what appears to be flood lights - perhaps a night shot would be worthwhile?   Posted: 10/17/2026 16:20:29

I like this location seems strange that all this work is on the roof where no one cans see it? I would zoom in on the big one without the other distractions. Better light for sure or night shot. I also like original #1. It looks like the little temple isolated to right side would be interesting subject also. Nice work.   Posted: 10/17/2026 17:06:03
