About the Image(s)
I went to a museum last week in a small town. They had a bowl of artificial fruit and I took a photo with my phone.
One of the assignments for our Camera Club was “Abstract”. Not anything I did before!
I took the image into Photoshop. I duplicated the layer and added a Gausion blur (quite a bit) so it does not show what it is.
Then I went into free transform and enabled the warp mode. Then I played with it to distort and stretch the image.
Then I took it into the blend mode and tried different ones for different effects. You can repeat this process several times and distort it in various ways.
I had fun playing with it.

This is brilliant and I wish it was mine!! Definitely going to try and have a go myself!!
The subject choice is just right for this process as you need a lot of colour to carry it off.
Nothing negative to say aboout it, well done!!   Posted: 10/01/2026 14:40:55

Colors and "swirling object" are wonderfully positioned and dynamic! Your source of reference is fascinating! Beautiful abstract!   Posted: 10/01/2026 16:19:31

Very Nice Abstract. You did a good job of creating a 3D object that does convey some movement. The red and green apples worked really well with a good mix of the two colors.
My photo club also likes to get us out of our comfort zones, and I am glad you had fun with this.   Posted: 10/02/2026 18:36:18

Thanks for your comments. Yes, Camera Clubs do provide us challenges!
I usually try to do at least one image for each assignment. It is not a requirement for the club, but as you said, it gets us out of our comfort zone.   Posted: 10/02/2026 21:31:52

This is a bold, imaginative take on the "Abstract" theme. The saturated colors bring strong color energy to the work. The crisp edge of the subject against the blurred background is the most striking part of the image. The shape fills most of the frame and sits fairly centered. Scaling it down a bit or shifting it off center would give the background more room and add some visual tension. I really can't think of much else to offer as I think this is a very nice fun image. A job well done!   Posted: 10/12/2026 03:29:09
