About the Image(s)
This is an image of a Gothic style, Catholic, cathedral located in the port town of Cobh, Co Cork. Construction began in 1868 and wasn’t completed until 1919…funds were a major issue as the country had been impoverished and depopulated by a famine, particularly in the Catholic community. This port town was the final berth of the ill fated Titanic. Cobh is now a bustling docking port for cruise liners.
The image was taken in very bright conditions by a drone with fixed f1.8, 24mm lens and shutter speed of 1/6400. Processing in Lightroom consisted of cropping, denies and exposure adjustments.

Hello Ger. You've taken to the air again for another beautiful photo. What type of file does the drone camera produce: jpg, Tiff, Raw,...? I assume you control the aperture, shutter speed, and ISO?
Thanks.   Posted: 10/09/2026 16:49:57

Hi Charles,
Thank you for your comments.
The drone has a fixed aperture lens produces a RAW image...you can select a shutter speed and ISO...its also has a digital zoom which doesn't produce good quality images.   Posted: 10/17/2026 15:39:14

Very nice arial shot. You have nice focus, contrast and exposure. Great job! I tried to crop in some from the left as I don't think you need so much detail there and the angle of the white houses made a nice stopping point for me. It's a small thing, but see what you think.   Posted: 10/11/2026 18:07:29
Thank you Cindy....I don't disagree with your comments on the crop.   Posted: 10/17/2026 15:40:24
Ger, I prefer the monochrome of this with your post-processing and cropping (I also like Cindy's crop from the left). The capture angle works well with the steeple and other structures forming a pleasing composition. The clouds make a nice touch and I like that you have darkened the sky (gradually?) from the top. Nicely done!   Posted: 10/13/2026 02:01:54

It is a cool drone shot. I also like Cindy's crop as it put more on the cathedral. Don't know how big of a file you have or sensor size, so it does limit post processing. Do you have any ND filters for you drone? I hope you got lots of shots as this would be fun to shoot.   Posted: 10/15/2026 14:30:35
Hi James,
Sensor 1" is adequate ... can accommodate ND filters   Posted: 10/17/2026 16:05:36
