About the Image(s)

We were on a road near a forest when this beauty appeared. I thought it made a good IR subject. Settings were 100 ISO, 18 mm, f 8.0, and .4 sec. I processed it with a Lightroom profile 8 black and white conversion, and Topaz Studio for sharpening and denoise. The original was taken with my converted IR 590 camera. (see attached original).

Great image, Lauren. Your choice of this particular b&w profile enhances all of the detritus of the castaway auto. Also, your Topaz Studio did really well on sharpening and denoising. Your original is so very blurry-it is really amazing that Topaz worked so well.   Posted: 10/04/2026 21:33:40

A very strong image Lauren. Your processing journey from the original to final image is excellent. And Lauren, I'm just going to play Devil's advocate for a minute. My first thought was that this is a very busy image, with the truck becoming a little lost in the scenery and growth around it. Your processing skills are way above mine, but is there a possibility of darkening the foliage around the truck and lightening the truck to bring it out a little more? Don't get me wrong, it's still a great image, just maybe could be a little greater?   Posted: 10/24/2026 07:55:38

I think that is a great idea. I will give it a try!

The original file is blurry... Wow! topaz studio is powerful to fix this kind of problem. I would like to do something like burning and dodging to make the car to stand out... otherwise, it will "hide" in the trees and make me feel like a busy image   Posted: 10/27/2026 21:30:21
