Sakura or Cherry blossom season started earlier in 2026. When we came the leaves started green. Cherry blossom almost gone. And yet, people still can-do Hamami (in Japanese it’s meant picnic to enjoy Cherry Blossom). I took this in Cherry Blossom section of Yoyogi Park, Tokyo. Since I have tremor in my hands purposely I use speed 1/500 and auto ISO.

Arief, thank you for sharing. It's interesting to see another frame from the same walk in Yoyogi Park - last time it was the shady area with benches, and now it's the cherry blossoms at the end of the season. The contrast between the old, heavy trunk and the fragile flowers feels almost symbolic.
If I may offer one small observation: on the right side in the background there's a small piece of a wooden object sticking out, and on the left, two people in purple are almost hidden behind the trunk. If you had taken just one step to the left, both the people would be fully visible and the wooden object would be out of the frame. But of course, it can't be reshot - and it's a minor thing. Overall, a very beautiful and atmospheric image.   Posted: 10/06/2026 10:22:19

Hi Elena,
I admit, sometimes I didn't pay attention on detail.. Especially we have limited time on location .. lol.. Thank you very much for your advice. :)   Posted: 10/07/2026 11:23:54

For me, what I like most about this image is how that blue sky enhances the colors of the leaves and blossoms. I also like how all the branches extend out beyond the frame. I keep thinking maybe a slightly different point of view could potentially improve the image - If you get the opportunity to shoot this again, maybe get down as low as possible. That might help create more separation for the lower branches that get a little lost in the background and creates a greater portion of the frame to play off of that blue sky. I hope my thoughts make sense, I'm new to this.   Posted: 10/07/2026 15:29:51

I do like Cherry Trees, I have a beautiful one at the bottom of my garden that does the most amazing display for three weeks each year that is a joy. These old Cherries are coming to the end of their display but have a little more to show us. Your choice of cropped in is a good choice and the people add to the image. The people are my point, there are some bits that could be removed to make this much cleaner image and more pleasing to view with a wonderful triangle of people . So I have done a spot the difference. Thank you for sharing a lovely image.   Posted: 10/11/2026 09:50:04

I love the blossoming cherry tree, they are truly nature's beauty . I love the blue sky as a background to the blossoms. I also notice that the tree itself has a gorgeous texture . Maybe a tiny bit of texture bumping ? Maybe you could also try getting down and shooting up more sometime for a variation and different angle. Next time they bloom ! But lovely image .   Posted: 10/15/2026 15:46:22
