About the Image(s)
This is a shot I set up in a old house I moved the window to a better position And made the light rays with the poly lasso, the nun was taken at a different
Location under warm light .
This type of work I find very difficult with my shaking problem I would never Enter this type of work in a comp , its not photography ?

This is a fun composition. Interesting that you say it's not photography. There are infinite arguments about that. One that we have often in these groups is whether shooting a statue is more than copying art.
For this image, the two light sources do not relate to the subject. As you said, the subject was shot under different lighting.
Given what you are doing here, I think the light beams from the window might be a bit more subtle. The model might have a finger on a line of text and be wearing old spectacles.   Posted: 10/04/2026 13:43:53

What a nice composition. The light rays should be extended and where they touch the subject the area should be brightened for more realism. I would try to implement my suggestion but this sort of thing is a lot of work.   Posted: 10/11/2026 17:33:39
I find a bit of a problem with this shot. To start with, it is definitely photography as you took each of the elements and then wove them together. I enjoy doing this sort of post processing though I don't think I'm any good at it.
The main problem, as Steve pointed out, is that the two elements don't have the same lighting. The window appears to be the main source from above and to the side, but the figure has very frontal lighting. The rays should be lighting the left side and casting a shadow on the right. You could easily produce this effect by making a layer, filling with 50% grey and then using a brush to darken the area, using a large feather with reduced opacity , gradually increasing the darkness towards the right side.
I agree with Steve about the rays of light as they are too dominant-subtle is usually better! The window does appear to be floating in the darkness so maybe a texture over much of the walls would give the feeling of a room.
You say she is a nun but there is no obvious indication of that. To me she just looks as if she has wrapped a blanket round herself because she is cold.
AS Ed says, there's a lot of work involved and it is only going to be done if you actually enjoy this style of photography. I have to be in the right frame of mind with plenty of time to do it.   Posted: 10/19/2026 14:11:24

I like the idea, and it is photography as you took the images that you are using. Diana made some very good suggestions, and with a bit more work you can have a very nice image. I will point out that the partial item under the left side of the book looks out of place and is a distraction.   Posted: 10/19/2026 15:44:22
