About the Image(s)

Image taken in my garden during this summer……I think the insect species is a bumblebee, but I'm not sure, flying over a dahlia.

Canon R6 Mk3, 100 to 500 lens at 428mm…1/2500,f9, ISO 1000. ….Processed in Lightroom, cropped, exposure adjusted and a slight vignette added.

Great colors and composition! Sharp where it needs to be. Background is fine. All I can suggest is some noise reduction. Both light room and ACR have great noise reducti0n tools now.   Posted: 10/08/2026 20:30:12

Both the insect and the flower are sharp and the background blurred. Beautiful. Good visual interest and story telling.   Posted: 10/12/2026 15:43:06

Very pleasant image. Whilst the overall image is pleasant it is confusing as to whether the bee or the flower is the main subject? If it is the bee it is too small compared to the flower. The flower by its size, color and brightness takes up a significant part of the image. I have de-noised the image a bit, given it a bit of a tilt and darkened the background so that all the attention is on the two subjects. I hope you like it.   Posted: 10/13/2026 15:40:24

The bee and the flower both look very sharp, from a really tight crop. Your camera must have a lot of megapixels. You caught the bee with the wings out and in a good spot in relation to the flower. I liked Hoshedar's idea of tilting the image to add more interest to the bee. But his image looks too light. I did reduce the noise and tilted the image some. I had to use the clone tool to fill in the blank areas, especially in the upper left. I did a quick job with the clone tool and it does need some improvement.   Posted: 10/17/2026 17:28:47

Very nice shot. Flower and bee sharp and I actually like some of the blurry yellow reeds in the background as they rather 'match' the bee! I also like the composition as it is. I also noticed your camera and lens - I have the R6ii and 100-400 for dragonflies - both setups great for closeup pics like this! But still, very well done! :)   Posted: 10/27/2026 09:39:20
